In Palermo for the opening of the GIGLIO boutique for ladies
CHI [Nov. 2000]
In Palermo for the opening of the woman’s boutique whose owner Michele Giglio has bring in Sicily the most famous labels.
Michele Giglio’s success is evident: 7 store in the centre of Palermo. His Boutique Donna has just been opened with a new architectural design, 16 windows, 400 sq. meters offering the best of the Italian fashion products.
But Giglio takes also care of the Emporio Armani and the Versus store. He is also the owner of other stores: a jeans shop of 800 sq. meters where only designer jeans are sold, GIGLIO IN that is the store for young people and a multilabels man’s store. Michele's mother Giuseppina Giglio takes care of the children’s store. She is 86 years old and still works every days with the same determination of a girl of 20.
This success arose from Michele's family (his grandfather had an haberdashery shop that his father brought fabrics into). "Today my wife Maria Teresa and our sons Giuseppe and Federico work with me" says Michele.
“Thanks to people like Giglio the Italian industry increased. That’s why at the inauguration of the boutique Giglio Donna there were Santo Versace, Donatella Girombelli, Silvano and Giuliana Gerani, Giuliana Cella and several managers of the most important brands. There was his staff as well. Giving a job to so many family it’s certainly a big gratification.
