Meet the Fashion Bloggers Chloe’s Addiction

23 January 2014

Today we meet the austrian blogger Chloe of Chloe’s Addiction.

Hi Chloe, tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).

Hi! I’m Chloe, from Melbourne Australia, and I run a fashion blog called Chloe’s Addiction. I’m facinated by the world of fashion and have a serious addiction for shoes.

What inspired you to start a style blog? What motivates you to keep blogging?

I started my blog in July last year, and honestly I never ever thought of blogging before that. It all started when I posted some pictures on Chictopia and started to gain a following. People who have been following and voting on my looks asked me to get a blog up and finally I did. I guess the fact that people actually appreciate my style and gained inspiration from my outfits keeps me motivated to blog. I think it has somehow also gotten therapeutic for me to browse sites like Lookbook and be apart of it’s fashion community.

How did you choose the name of your blog?

I actually didn’t choose my blog name, My boyfriend did. He helped me set up my blog and he has always labeled my love for fashion as an addiction, so it was one of the first thing names he chose and I just kinda sticked with it ;)

What was the best comment you ever received from a reader?

Marriage proposal. They make me chuckle.

What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?

Accessories! Rings, belts, scarfs, hats etc. There’s always so many pretty accessories to get and it really helps you add more flair and character to your outfits.

What is your top fashion tip?

I just expressed my love for accessories above, but my top fashion top would be to accessorize, but not to overdo it! Putting on a couple of accessories would make an outfit shine, but too much would just make it look like there’s too much going on.

What advice do you have for new bloggers or people considering starting a blog?

Trial out a few blogging platform, and stick to the one you like the best. If your not an IT wiz that can design and create your own theme, then go with something like Tumblr that offer beautiful themes. Next, don’t worry too much about readership numbers. When I started blogging, I kinda told myself that I wouldnt worry even if no one read my blog, I’d use it as a personal diary of my outfits and pictures as I’m blogging for me, myself and I, and I found that helpful as that was my focus.

What importance do social networks have for you?

My blog is on Tumblr, I have a facebook page, twitter, and a formsprings account. I think social networks are great in terms of keeping up with fashionistas I follow, and likewise to keep in touch with people who read my blog and such.

What is your favourite thing to do when not blogging?

When I’m not blogging, shopping, or doing anything remotely related to fashion, I love playing videogames. Currently trying to finish Final Fantasy XIII-2, and I used to play alot of starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft. I easily get addicted to games, which is not healthy or recommended!

What message do you hope to send to your readers?

I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who reads my blog, or leave me comments. I do read all my comments on sites like Lookbook, Chictopia etc. and it can sometimes be difficult to reply to each one, but I’m truly grateful and appreciative that people like/vote on my outfits and style. I do what I do because of my readers and likewise I just enjoy fashion and evolving from the inspirations I get from the online fashion community as well.
